Commitment to Creating a More Compassionate World
At Young Law Group, we believe in the power of making positive changes, not only for our clients, but also for the world we live in. When we started the firm, we committed ourselves to supporting charitable organizations that align with our values and work tirelessly to address critical issues in the fields of animal rights and welfare as well as environmental and conservation concerns.
Animal Rights & Welfare Advocacy
At Young Law Group, we understand the importance of protecting those who cannot speak for themselves. That's why we are proud to support organizations that advocate for the rights and welfare of animals. These charities work diligently to combat animal cruelty, promote responsible pet ownership, and champion the rights of all living beings.
Environmental & Conservation Initiatives
Life on our planet faces unprecedented challenges from a rapidly changing environment. It is humankind's duty to take action. We support organizations that are dedicated to preserving our natural world and combating the urgent threats to all life on Earth through wildlife protection, habitat restoration, and sustainable agricultural and water use practices.
Three Reasons Why These Causes Matter to Us
1. Ethical Responsibility: Each of us has moral obligation to protect the vulnerable. However, we believe lawyers have a special responsibility in this area. Protecting the vulnerable includes animals and ecosystems. Our actions today shape the world our children and grandchildren will inherit. By supporting these causes, we uphold our ethical responsibility to create a more compassionate and sustainable world for everyone.
2. Pro Bono Work: Law firms of all sizes must commit to pro bono work. It is our ethical duty to do so. When contacted by charitable organizations needing legal assistance, we offer pro bono legal advice and services, ensuring that charitable organizations in these fields have the legal support they need to pursue their missions.
3. Inspiration: The people devoting their lives to these fields are doing really tough work. They are faced with stories of death, destruction, and despair. At the same time, their ceaseless efforts transform tragedy into triumph. The dedication and passion of these organizations inspire us to be better advocates in both our legal practice and our personal lives. We are proud to do what we can to help these organizations fight for a more just and sustainable world.
Organizations We Support
We believe the organizations we support are integral to enhancing life for all inhabitants of our planet. Through financial contributions, we support charities of all sizes working in these fields. In addition, for "Giving Tuesday" (November 28), we identify three organizations that have done particularly outstanding work during the calendar year. We select one organization with an international scope, one that works on national issues, and one that focuses on state/local efforts. We also devote the entirety of our pro bono hours each year assisting nonprofit organizations working in these fields with their legal needs.
We have given our support to the following charitable organizations:
International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)
American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
Humane Society of the United States
We will update this list on an ongoing basis. If you are the operator, member, or volunteer of a likeminded charity that you think we should consider supporting, or which may benefit from pro bono assistance, please contact us at [email protected].
